Xiringuito Escribà opened its doors in 1992, just as Barcelona was preparing to show the world its best side during the Olympic Games. The city vibrated with energy, beaches were opened to the public, the promenade was transformed and the Mediterranean became the protagonist. In the midst of this boom, Xiringuito Escribà landed with a clear proposal: good cuisine, lots of character and a rice dish that would make history.
From the beginning, it became much more than a beach bar. I came here to enjoy the sea, the atmosphere and, above all, good rice. The recipe was simple but effective: fresh produce, respect for the rice tradition and a personal touch that has been conquering palates for more than three decades.
The place also breathes that Mediterranean essence that is captivating: tables with sea views, bare feet in the sand and that relaxed atmosphere that makes everything taste better. Over time, the Xiringuito Escribà has witnessed family celebrations, lunches with friends, and more than a million paellas enjoyed.
Today, more than 30 years later, we continue with the same philosophy that saw us born: enjoying life at a slow pace, sharing around a good table and making every meal a small celebration. Because in the end, if that 92 taught us anything, it’s that when Barcelona opens up to the world, it does so with taste, character and passion.
